How the Twist and Tubes collection was created
The Twist and Tube collection is 3 years old, but I still remember very clearly how it came about. It was a time when I still had my workshop at home and was struggling to put some time aside to create. So I thought my best course of action was to remove myself from home and go where I couldn’t get distracted for a few hours so I could focus on creating a new collection.
But of course, it had to be a place where I could go and make jewelry, not just draw and think about it. Fortunately, I knew there was a course at the Ecole de Joaillerie of Montréal where I could just go and work on projects with other students and get the help of a teacher if I had any questions. Some people did ask me what I was doing there, but, hey, why not? I could always learn new techniques, new ways of doing things and having a teacher checking my work and having his feedback was invaluable!
So there I was, having so much time to design, sketch, play with my materials and testing a few concepts I had in mind.
And while I was making a new collection, I also made new friends and had lots of fun!
